 FAQs

Q. Why should I buy it?

A. It is the most cost-effective, and EFFICIENT training aid on the market today. It allows the pitcher to train 3 separate aspects of the windmill pitch, SIMULTANEOUSLY. There is more time spent practicing and LESS time changing out the training aids.

Q. Can it increase pitch velocity?

A. It will ABSOLUTELY increase velocity, as long as it is used regularly and CORRECTLY. When used correctly, it promotes the optimum, BIO-MECHANICALLY CORRECT MOVEMENTS in the execution of the windmill pitch.

Q. What makes it EFFICIENT?

A. All components are SECURELY FASTENED, so nothing is knocked over, dislodged or otherwise jarred loose. You spend more time pitching and almost NO TIME re-setting the knocked-over training device.

Q. What training aids does this replace?

A. There are numerous versions of the ‘’power line” and anyone can go to Home Depot and get a 2x10 plank. There are several versions of devices that try to keep the push foot/heel in the optimum motion. The key aspect is the “goal post” which replaces the imaginary box, or some other make-shift object that gives a pitcher a visible target to vault over- but invariably, had to be re-set after every pitch.

Q. How does it compare, cost-wise, with other training aids?

A. There are a few items that are “somewhat” close to the Pitchers’ Plank® and are in the $300 range. As compared to a top-end, $350 bat, it is a true bargain, since bats wear out and have to be replaced - and, in some cases, annually. We challenge any pitcher to wear out The Pitcher’s Plank.

Q. How heavy is it?

A. 30 Lbs total

Q. How bulky is it?

A. It can easily fit into a typical carry bag, comparable to a typical catchers’ bag.

Q. How fast can you set it up and take it down?

A. It can easily be set up in 2 minutes

Q. Are the parts breakable?

A. With normal use, it is virtually indestructible. Parts may be broken/damaged, if they’re not packed carefully in a duffel bag and then placed haphazardly in a car trunk or equipment trailer.

Q. Can I get replacement parts if some are broken or lost?

A. Yes. We offer fast turn-around time for parts needing to be replaced.

Q. What surfaces can it be used on? Indoor gym floors, school hallways, etc

A. Turfed facilities are always OK. Concrete and blacktop surfaces are also OK, as long as they are not TOO rough.

Q. Can I use it in a pitchers’ circle/on an actual softball field?

A. Yes. In the foul line areas or the bullpen is fine. DO NOT try to use the Pitchers’ Plank® on the rubber/in the circle- it will likely be too rough and invite possible injury.

Q. What types of footwear works best on the Pitchers’ Plank®?

A. NOT SPIKES OR CLEATS. Use only flat-soled rubber gym shoes/ cross -trainer shoes.
